Monthly Rundown: April 2017

Books Read = 18

18 again! Three months in a row, woo-hoo. I’ve been listening to a ton of audiobooks (8 out of 18 this month) and went on a bit of a fairytale binge following my re-read of A Court of Thorns and Roses. That series was just as good on audio — and even better the second time around.

I had been holding off on reading this one for ages and after recently discovering my undying love for Steve West’s narration, I bought the audible version and oh man… I loved this so much.

Least Favorite: The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison ★★29981261
Oh man. This book. This started off so intriguing and I loved the similarities to The Collector but that ending was positively infuriating.

49011Biggest Surprise: The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter ★★★★
I’d been wanting to read something of Angela Carter’s for ages and I was on a massive fairytale kick so I started this one spontaneously. I need everything else of hers, immediately.

Biggest Disappointment: Beauty and the Beast: Lost in a Book by Jennifer Donnelly ★★Short & Sweet (Beauty & the Beast Retellings) – A Court of Thorns and Roses, Hunted, Lost in a Book
I had so much hope for this one! It sounded so cute! But it just didn’t work for me at all.

Lover of tea. Crazed Bibliophile. Daydreamer.
I have a ridiculous love for the written word. I read anything and everything: Adult fiction, YA, Middle Grade, even the occasional Non-Fiction.

When I'm not reading I'm caring for my step-children, drinking obscene amounts of tea and contemplating what life will be like in the impending apocalypse.

18 must be your lucky number for 2017! That’s pretty consistent and pretty damn badass. Congrats, Bonnie. Here’s hoping for 18 more in May 🙂

Ooh, you’ve read Legion! That’s one of the few Sanderson books I have yet to track down and read. I’ve heard it’s a bit rough compared to his others but I know I am down for anything Cosmere, any time!

    Happy reading Bonnie!
