Books Read = 18
18 again! Three months in a row, woo-hoo. I’ve been listening to a ton of audiobooks (8 out of 18 this month) and went on a bit of a fairytale binge following my re-read of A Court of Thorns and Roses. That series was just as good on audio — and even better the second time around.

Best of the Month: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater ★★★★★
I had been holding off on reading this one for ages and after recently discovering my undying love for Steve West’s narration, I bought the audible version and oh man… I loved this so much.
Least Favorite: The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison ★★
Oh man. This book. This started off so intriguing and I loved the similarities to The Collector but that ending was positively infuriating.
Biggest Surprise: The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter ★★★★
I’d been wanting to read something of Angela Carter’s for ages and I was on a massive fairytale kick so I started this one spontaneously. I need everything else of hers, immediately.
Biggest Disappointment: Beauty and the Beast: Lost in a Book by Jennifer Donnelly ★★
I had so much hope for this one! It sounded so cute! But it just didn’t work for me at all.
Angela Carter! I adore her. She is the writer who really started the whole fairy tale retelling thing, and I need to pull some of her books off my shelf and read her again. Wow 18 Books! Jealous;-)

I need to read all her things. I loved her gothic writing style, absolutely loved it.

What a great reading month. I’ve not read any of these except A Court of Thorns and Roses and I REALLY want to read Hunted. Hope you read a bunch of good books in May too!

Holy, good for you Bonnie! That’s a ton of audiobooks in one month – and two IA ones, so of course they were great! Now that I’m not commuting to work, I’m lucky if I get one audiobook in per month. 😂

I’ve been listening to a TON of audiobooks this year… far more than ever before. Plus I renewed my audible membership so I have even more reason to listen. 🙂 I listen a lot at work (lots of downtime) and at home when doing chores and stuff.

18 must be your lucky number for 2017! That’s pretty consistent and pretty damn badass. Congrats, Bonnie. Here’s hoping for 18 more in May 🙂
Ooh, you’ve read Legion! That’s one of the few Sanderson books I have yet to track down and read. I’ve heard it’s a bit rough compared to his others but I know I am down for anything Cosmere, any time!
Happy reading Bonnie!

Thank you, Jessie! It’s been a slow month but we’ll see how it goes. 😀
Yes… Legion. I have both of those stories on audible and they are quite fun but probably wasn’t the best Sanderson for me to pick up first.
