I participated in the Elle Readers Prize event again, however, this will be my last one. While it’s been fun, it’s very time consuming and I’ve got to cut some things out of my busy schedule. This is one of them. But my written reviews for the following books will be put up on their website in a few months so that’ll be fun to see. 🙂 Those reviews won’t be published on Goodreads or my blog per their request but I highly recommend The Widow to all you mystery fans.
Yep, I purchased more eBooks. But only two. So it could be worse. Every once in a while I refer back to my Top Ten Tuesday posts where I write about those books that I don’t know why I haven’t read yet. American Gods always makes that list. What with the upcoming adaptation being aired on Starz, I need to finally make this happen. A Land More Kind Than Home is another one I’ve been curious about and it popped up on my feed for $1.99. Another one to add to my massive stack of southern gothic fiction I have to read.
I put a few library books on hold and they all managed to come in all at once, as library books tend to do. I’ve already read (and looooved) Dear Mr. You. You can check out my review for it here. I’m reading Winter and Fates and Furies now, but really struggling with Fates. It probably didn’t do the poor book any favors for Obama to announce it was his favorite book of the year because my expectations are now astronomical. Notorious RBG will be next up. I’ll probably get to it in January just before it’s due back. I’ve decided to participate in Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge for 2016 and that’ll be my pick for Biography.
What new books did you pick up this week?
