Ah, it’s that time of year again. The time when we’re given a fresh slate to work with. When we’re full of hopes and wishes for the new year and are optimistic about making and sticking to resolutions. I tried not to be completely unrealistic this go around (I did not resolve to read War and Peace this year or read 365 books) but stuck with resolutions that I felt most comfortable making and sticking with.
YESSSS to all of this!
You’re so SO gonna rock 2016.
Happy New Year, my friend. =)

Oh yeah, I’ve definitely had those times when I waited one or two or three weeks to write a review, and I couldn’t remember anything! I try to take notes when I’m reading (it’s much easier on a Kindle) but sometimes I’m lazy. I love that you are resolving to ditch your schedule! I want to do that SO BAD. But then I feel bad because I have so many review books, and I end up never reading anything else. I’m trying to request a LOT LESS this year:-)

I’ve still got review books to worry about but I’m not FREAKING OUT about it, you know? Making sure they still get done but still reading what I want when I want so I’m not forcing the review book. Usually ends up worse (for the book) when I do that. I only have 17 review books at the moment, 9 of them are for 2016 so I’m not too far behind. π

I agree, time to step back and relax as far as the blog goes. I have cut back substantially on ARCS and I am loving being able to read anythign I want. I am slowly catching up on all those ARCS too. Good luck with your goals, Bonnie.

Thank you, Heidi! Good luck with cutting back. It’s been my hardest task. π

Great goals! I’m aiming to read more books from my home library and be pickier about what ARCs I request as well.
Good luck on all your resolutions!

Thank you, Samantha! I’ve got so many books on hand and I don’t even need to leave the house. Baffling that I still opt to go to the library and bookstore. lol

Terrific goals! I’ve been keeping a spreadsheet for the past couple of years to track ARCs and release dates, and it definitely helps! (I’m still behind, but it helps) π Being choosier with ARCs is something I’m working towards too. Good luck! Wishing you a great reading year!

I just created the most epic of spreadsheets today and I’m loving having it all lined up to see. Let’s see if I can keep up with it throughout the year. π Wishing you a fantastic reading year as well, Lisa, thank you!

Good luck with all of these! Being able to quit books is something I need to work on to, I need to learn to be able to put down books I’m not interested in and not feel bad about it!

It’s definitely something I struggle with frequently. There are just far too many books in the world to be wasting time on something you’re not enjoying. π Seems simple, but it’s not.
