The Perfect Present by Karen Swan
I just read Christmas at Tiffany’s by this author (it’s easily one of my favorites of the year) and I was devastated to realize that was the only one to have been published in the US. Thankfully, Amazon had a used copy shipping from the UK for only $4 so I quickly snatched it up. My expected delivery date is about 6 weeks from now so I should get it just in time. Hopefully.
Thursbitch by Alan Garner
I bought this not too long ago and was insanely excited to get it. Got it shipped from the UK and everything. I think I’ve hyped it up a bit too much in my mind but I’m really planning on getting around to it this winter.
Bitter Greens by Kate Forsyth
I was so ecstatic to get an early review copy of this one but was so disappointed I wasn’t able to make the time for it. I’ve heard nothing but lovely things about this book and fairy tale retellings sound like the perfect thing to curl up with on the couch when it’s chilly outside.
Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu
I have a mental list of books I always want to read around the holiday season. Or when it’s snowing outside. Breadcrumbs is one of those titles and for some reason I always seem to forget about it when that perfect time rolls around. I’m not forgetting this year! (Someone remind me if I haven’t read this by February, please.)
Who’s Afraid of Mr Wolfe? by Hazel Osmond
In the month of October I read thirteen horror novels in a row to celebrate Halloween. Strangely enough, I’ve been craving all kinds of cute, fluffy reads and this is one I’ve had for quite some time that I’ve been desperate to find the time for. Soon!
The colder it gets outside, the more likely you are to find me snuggled up in bed with my puppy and a book on the weekends. This winter, I’m hoping to wrap up loose ends on series I’ve started and revisit a few favorites.

Skipping Christmas by John Grisham
I’m not much for “holiday” books, but this is my one exception. It is by far the best Christmas book I have ever read and so, so funny. This book has become one of my winter traditions, and this year will be no exception.
The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness
It is my (absolutely crazy and stretch) goal to reread and finish the complete All Souls trilogy before the New Year. I had better get cracking soon if I hope to pull this off!
A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin
My other reading goal for 2014 is to finish A Song of Ice and Fire. While I generally have anxiety over finishing series, GRRM has a habit of killing everyone I love. I just want to get it over with at this point.
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
Since I will be wrapping up a few series, it seems like the perfect time to begin one that has been sitting on my list for several years. What better than an forbidden love with angels.
Yes Please by Amy Poehler
Do I find Amy Poehler hilarious? Yes. Would I really like a copy of this? Please. See what I did there? 🙂
I am most curious about Bitter Greens. I alos like Skipping Christmas. I need to read that again. I haven’t read any of the Hush Hush series, so I will be curious to see what you think of it. I too need to read books two and three of the All Souls Trilogy.

I thought about including the first Game of Thrones book, but since I’m already fairly committed to re-reading the Outlander series, I didn’t think I should push my luck! I do also want to read the All Souls Trilogy — basically I want to read ALL THE BOOKS 🙂

You both have some amazing books to look forward to this Winter! I actually didn’t end up adding any holiday themed books in my list, but if I had to it would probably have to be Breadcrumbs too, I have heard some brilliant things about that book! Happy reading! 🙂

Wow, great lists! You’ve both got some great books coming up. I got a copy of Bitter Greens from NG as well — and haven’t read it yet either. Maybe this winter. Dani, good luck with finishing up All Souls and ASoIaF! Both are really worth the long hours. Enjoy!
