The topic today: books I could re-read forever. These are all favorites of mine, but not all favorites are ones I could re-read forever. I don’t re-read often, although I should. I choose not to as much because I like to spend my time reading new books, finding new possible favorites. But sometimes falling into an old favorite though is one of the most comforting things a reader can do. These are ten books that will always be a comfort to me.
The Lover’s Dictionary by David Levithan
Let’s Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir by Jenny Lawson
The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff
Awakening the Buddha Within by Lama Surya Das
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
Night Shift by Stephen King
Darkfever (Fever #1) by Karen Marie Moning
Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
Dear Mr. You by Mary-Louise Parker
I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts On Being a Woman by Nora Ephron
I do need to re-read Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I loved that book so much. I can’t believe I’ve never read her second one, although I bought it – who could resist the happy raccoon on the cover. Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot and The Shining made my list as did a Pooh book. I don’t really enjoy re-reading much and like you, usually prefer discovering new books.

I listen to clips of Let’s Pretend when I’m in a foul mood. It always sets things right. 🙂

I really need to read I Feel Bad About My Neck, especially since I’m about to lose my last child…ugh☹

Lol definitely not a requirement but I can understand the desire to do so. 🙂

I haven’t read I Feel Bad About My Neck yet, but I’ve heard so many great things about it…if it’s super re-readable, I might have to pick it up soon!

Honestly, all of Nora’s books are readable. Heartburn is one of my favorites but I Feel Bad is certainly the best.

Some very good picks on here, Bonnie! The Lover’s Dictionary and Let’s Pretend This Never Happened couldn’t be more different, but I loved them both. I should try re-reading them at some point soon!

I’ve read Lover’s Dictionary twice (it was even better the second time) and I listen to Let’s Pretend occasionally when I’m having a bad day. It’s hilarious on audio.
