Top Ten Tuesday – Currently Unfinished

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is dedicated to the unfinished series. This is going to go beyond ten because ever since I created my bookish spreadsheet to keep track of all my series in progress I now know how crazy behind I am. My goal is to get caught up series this year and thankfully there seem to be quite a few that have ended/are ending soon so there’s hope. I’ve broke it up into series that I have only one book to be done with, ones that I need to read before the final installment releases this year and other assorted series I need to finish up.

One Book To Be Done

Ignite Me (Shatter Me #3) by Tahereh Mafi {Purchase}
I honestly haven’t cared much for this series but I still feel the need to finish. Even though people have been spoilery assholes and I already have the gist of what happens, I still plan on reading.
Boundless (Unearthly #3) by Cynthia Hand {Purchase}
For an angel book, I’m surprised at how much I liked this series. I read books 1 and 2 back to back and by the time Boundless came out my excitement had dwindled.
Under the Light (Light #2) by Laura Whitcomb {Purchase}
A Certain Slant of Light was a truly impressive read and I really have zero clue why I haven’t picked this up. The ending of ACSoL left off with a doozy of an ender and I’d really love to finally see the resolution.
Girl of Nightmares (Anna #2) by Kendare Blake {Purchase}
Yet another one where I LOVED the first installment but by the time the next came out I had lost interest and moved on to other books.
Happy Ever After (Bride Quartet #4) by Nora Roberts {Purchase}
These have been fun, light reads and I enjoyed the previous three for the most part. Just recently picked up book 4 so this should happen soon. As soon as I’m in a lighthearted fluffy kinda mood.
Dead Ever After (Sookie Stackhouse #13) by Charlaine Harris {Purchase}
Okay, so I really have zero interest in finishing this one to be quite honest because I already know what happens but I’m terrible about calling it quits on series reads.

Single Novels to Catch Up On Before New Release

So, I hate waiting. With all of these books I kind of ended up making an unconscious decision not to read them until closer to the final installment is released. Either that or once its released and then I can binge read because that’s truly the best way to read a series.

Rebel Heart (Dust Lands Trilogy #2) by Moira Young {Purchase}
Altered (Crewel World #2) by Gennifer Albin {Purchase}
UnSouled (Unwind Dystology #3) by Neal Shusterman {Purchase}
Game (Jasper Dent #2) by Barry Lyga {Purchase}
Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy #2) by Deborah Harkness {Purchase}

Other Series I Fully Intend to Finish. This Year. For reals.

Sirantha Jax series by Ann Aguirre
After I finish up Rachel Bach’s ‘Paradox’ series I have a feeling my life will be needing a bad-ass sci-fi heroine replacement. Sirantha will totally get the job done.

Shadow Reader series by Sandy Williams
I REALLY enjoyed the first installment of this Urban Fantasy series but had heard the 2nd had a case of Middle Book Syndrome so I set it aside so I could binge read the final two installments later.

Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison
So this is the one that I won’t have any problem with because I LOVE GEORGIA. I’m actually currently in the middle of #6 and will definitely be reading the next ones SOON.

SO! Have you read any of these? Recommend I bump up them up the TBR? Recommend I don’t even bother?

Leave me a link to your Top Ten Tuesday and I’ll be sure to stop by!

  1. Don’t bother with the Sookie series. I did finish it, but what a waste. Just…ugh.

    I do love A Discovery of Witches/Shadow of Night and I can’t wait for Book of Life, though I will seriously be upset if either dies. Harkness seems the type that might do that.

    • Lol I know it doesn’t seem worth it but… I mean after 12 books you might as well read 13, ya know? Or is it 14. I don’t even know. hahaha

  2. Ha, I love how you have this broken out by one book left, etc! Ditto the comment above — I seriously would not recommend bothering with the Sookie book. If you already know what happens, consider yourself luck not to have to waste your time on it! I really liked Shadow of Night, maybe not as much as the 1st book, but still thought it was excellent, and took the story in a really new and interesting direction. Can’t wait for #3!
