Top Ten Favorite Books/Series I Read Before I Was A Blogger

So this is quite a random list, and is far from a complete list but I didn’t want to cheat too badly. But these are just a few of my favorite books/series…
Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”
I have a feeling this will be on MANY lists today. I used to read a lot as a kid but I don’t remember ever loving a series of books more. They are all very dear to my heart.
Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray
“We sit and listen and are enthralled anew, for good stories, it seems, never lose their magic.”
I didn’t actually read a lot of YA in my pre-blogging days but I adored this trilogy. This was the beginning to my love of Libba Bray.
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
“Can’t you see? Every step I have taken, since I was that child on the bridge, has been to bring myself closer to you.”
Memoirs of a Geisha
I adored this book but also have very good personal memories of it as I was reading this when my (future) fiancé asked me out on a date for the first time in 2005, offering to take me to see the movie once I was finished with the book.
“He would be able to create a scent that was not merely human, but super human, an angels scent, so indescribably good and vital that who ever smelt it would be enchanted and with his whole heart would have to love him.”

I read this story when I was like 14 and it left an indelible impression on me. I’ve gone on to read everything Süskind has written (that I can at least get my hands on) but this is by far his very best.
Timeline by Michael Crichton
“If you don’t know history, then you don’t know anything. You are a leaf that doesn’t know it is part of a tree.”
222193
I do believe this was my first ever ‘time-travel’ book and basically I’ve been obsessed ever since. This is also my favorite of Crichton’s, followed closely by The Andromeda Strain.
Jeffery Deaver
“We have years to converse with someone, to blurt and rant, to explain our desires and anger and regrets – and oh how we squander those moments.”
6609441The Empty Chair (Lincoln Rhyme, #3)The Stone Monkey (Lincoln Rhyme #4)
Jeffery Deaver is one of my all-time favorite writers. His Lincoln Rhyme series is amazing and was the start to my love of thrillers and mysteries.
Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
“For where all love is, the speaking is unnecessary. It is all. It is undying. And it is enough.”
Basically, there are no words when it comes to my love for this series. I have vivid memories of a particularly awful summer job I had when I was 17 where I hid in a bathroom stall reading Dragonfly in Amber and Voyager. Considering I was the ONLY girl that worked there, no one could really check on me. hahaha
The Valley of Horses (Earth's Children, #2)The Mammoth Hunters (Earth's Children, #3)
Admittedly, the series got worse but the first three were my favorites but none of them came close to the first book. An incredible amount of research was put into these. And the movie? Never fails to make me cry.
