Hi everybody! Thanks for stopping by. Today’s post is ‘Waiting on Wednesday’ which is a weekly blog feature hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we’re super excited about.

A decade in the future, humanity thrives in the absence of sickness and disease.

We owe our good health to a humble parasite – a genetically engineered tapeworm developed by the pioneering SymboGen Corporation. When implanted, the tapeworm protects us from illness, boosts our immune system – even secretes designer drugs. It’s been successful beyond the scientists’ wildest dreams. Now, years on, almost every human being has a SymboGen tapeworm living within them.

But these parasites are getting restless. They want their own lives… and will do anything to get them.
So. Anybody who knows anything about me knows that I am positively crazy about Mira Grant’s Newsflesh series. I was heartbroken when it was over. But what’s this? A new series?? And it sounds AMAZING.

What do you think? Have you read the Newsflesh trilogy? Excited about this one? Disappointed that it doesn’t seem to be related to anything zombie? (It’s ok, admit it, I am just a tad too).

Let me know in the comments below and leave me a link to your Waiting on Wednesday post while you’re at it. 🙂

Great choice, I didn't even know this was coming! I loved the Newsflesh books and hopefully this will be just as good!

    Happy reading 🙂

I still haven't read the Newflesh series. *ducks* I know, I know…I love zombies and so I should have already devoured those books. I think I do own the first book…just a matter of making time for them. But this new series sounds so good. I'm thinking the symbiotic relationship between host and tapeworm is about to get really creepy. Thanks for sharing…I wasn't aware the author had a new series coming out!

Wow, sounds gross and creepy and… really good! I'd love to hear more about it. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. This. Sounds. So. Good.

I love Mira Grant – even when her books let me down a bit. I wasn't in love with Deadline so I've hesitated to get Deadline……. but I will soon.

And hey – maybe the parasite will zombiefy their hosts in a bid for freedom? I'd read that book!

Great pick, Bonnie. Into the wishlist it goes.

I saw this one on someone else's WoW this week! I am not sure about it; it sounds kind of terrifying! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my WoW post!

  6. I saw this on another WoW today and practically squealed. I love the Newsflesh books with a ferocious passion, so I'm thrilled we're getting a new Mira Grant series. And that cover is so unique and striking! Great pick 🙂

I haven't even heard of the Newflesh series! I must read them!! I like Sci-Fi/Dystopian books, but they aren't ones I actively search out. I think I might need to start! This sounds sorta Host(ish) but with a way creepier edge. Thanks for adding to my TBR pile, lol! New Follower-GFC.

I hope something zombie happens! But if not, that's okay. hahaha I guess.

  15. I saw this one this week too and I heard it might be at BEA so I am super excited about the possibility of getting this early. I guess I better read her other series, huh? I bought it and still haven't read it. I am a criminal.
