I gotta say, this is a pretty crazy post to be writing. July 15, 2011, was the day I finally decided to create my own blog. To say that I’m still doing it ten years later is pretty nuts and I’m not sure I expected this hobby to go as long as it has. I could bore you all with my stats throughout the years or a nice bullet-point list of all the things I’ve learned, but I think the most important thing here is that even though I’m not the same blogger I was when I began, I still enjoy doing it to this day.
I’ve been putting a lot of pressure on myself to post more and interact more but at the end of the day, blogging/reviewing was never a job for me. It was a hobby and I realized I needed to stop treating it as such. I post when inspiration strikes and if that doesn’t happen for weeks on end, it is what it is. Things in life, including blogging, can be a lot more fun if there isn’t quite so much stress put on it. I enjoy having a platform where I can shout from the rooftops about amazing books and that also allows me to connect with so many wonderful people. I’ve enjoyed it so much for the last ten years and I look forward to an endless amount of book discussions to come.
