Book Read = 14

Didn’t have the best reading month but it was a busy and stressful month and I put in a few long days at the end of the month. Not even worried… just crazy excited for my reading plans for October! All the horror. πŸ™‚

25778505Best of the Month:Β The New Hunger (Warm Bodies #2)Β by Isaac MarionΒ β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…
I bought this ages ago and just never got around to reading it. With the third book being published soon I figured it was time I got it done. WHY DID I WAIT??? This was so fantastic and only made me more excited (if that was possible) for the new one, The Burning World.Book Review – The Steep & Thorny Way by Cat Winters

Least Favorite:Β The Steep & Thorny Way by Cat Winters β˜…β˜…
I was super bummed by this one but it just didn’t do it for me. The historical aspect was interesting but failed to pack
the emotional punch I felt it should have.

28260587Biggest Surprise:Β Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass #5)Β by Sarah J. MaasΒ β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…Β½
Biggest surprise only because I keep expecting at some point to fall out of love with this for some Book Review – The Wolf Road: A Novel by Beth Lewisreason. Call me a pessimist. Still loving this one though and will be so sad to see it end. I’ll have to find a new favorite series to take days off from work when my pre-orders come in. πŸ™‚

Biggest Disappointment:Β The Wolf Road: A Novel by Beth Lewis β˜…β˜…β˜…
I’d been saving this one because I was thoroughly expecting to adore this one. This one was good, but not nearly as fantastic as I was anticipating.

Everything I Don’t Remember: A NovelΒ by Jonas Hassen Khemiri

I’m not sure if I was having issues focusing but I tried listening to this one a least half a dozen times but couldn’t seem to make it past 15 minutes. Not sure if it was the narrator or what but it just didn’t work out.

  1. I love how you give a run down of everything you read. I read so much more than I review… mostly because most of what I read seems to be just mainstream romance which no one wants to know what I think πŸ˜›
Glad there was more good for you thank bad this month.
I also really enjoyed Empire of Storms and hope the final book in the series will live up to my impossibly high expectations.
Hope October treats you well reading-wise!

    • I also read far more than I review too. Sometimes I just need to NOT review things… just sit back and enjoy it and not constantly look at it with a critical eye, trying to figure out what I’m going to say about it.

Ha! Yes, I also have impossibly high expectations. Except I also don’t know what to expect which is nice. I’m still crazy excited for it but sad to see it come to an end.
