Showcase Sunday (40)

Posted April 21, 2013 by Bonnie in Sunday Book Haul / 21 Comments

Just as soon as I was getting a handle on my ARC TBR pile 4 more get added to it. I couldn’t help it though! The Truth About You and Me and The Yonahlossee Riding Camp for Girls both sound especially intriguing and Lucky Bastard is a continuation of a series that I enjoy immensely. Icons was a surprise mailbox pressie. I’m a bit leery of it though as I’ve avoided Beautiful Creatures for various reasons, but… have any of you guys read it yet?

I read Icons recently actually and I wasn't a huge fan. Still, it was quite readable for the most part, so I hope you enjoy it slightly more. I'm curious about The Truth About You and Me! Mostly because I like the cover… I haven't actually read the book description yet, hah. 😉

I know what you mean, I am really trying to get a handle on the ARCS as well. I am most curious about Icons. I love the Casters Chronicles but early reviews are not too promising for this one. I wonder what you will make of it?

  4. I'm so excited to read Icons, and to see how Margret Stohl handles being a solo author. I liked the Caster Chronicles, although I think it's not a series for everyone. The Truth About You and Me sounds so cute and good, so I'll definitely be checking that one out.

Lovely haul, and happy reading! <3

  5. I read Beautiful Creatures but it was so long ago, Bonnie. I remember liking it, but I don't think I was over the moon for it. I wonder how Icons will be. I also got The Testing Prequel as well as the novel. I hope we both like them. Enjoy your reads. 🙂

Very nice. I always love seeing what people get;. Icons was good once you get past the confusing beginning, so don't get discouraged by it. Great haul of books.

  7. Great new books! I recently got an ARC of The Yonahlossee Riding Camp For Girls. It will be my next read.

Yeah, I'm not in a big rush to get to Icons, I have a feeling it won't be my cup of tea. Isn't that cover great on The Truth About You and Me? Reminds me of the loveliness of Tumble & Fall almost. 🙂

Yeah I got the The Testing last week… didn't have any idea there was a prequel so now I'll be able to read that one before. 🙂

Good to know about the beginning of Icons. I think I read the first two chapters and decided to put it aside for now… I'll remember that when I pick it back up. 🙂

hahaha I wasn't going to request it either (for the same reason) but one positive is it's quite a tiny book.

I am curious about Icons. I can't wait to see what you think of it. The Truth About You and Me sounds really good too. I almost requested it, but I decided to pass since I already have too many books to read lol!!

  15. I can't wait to hear what you think of Icons, though I am really happy they changed the cover as I was not a fan of the old one at all!

  16. I am really scared of Icons, because I've really disliked both of the other Stohl things I've read. I hope it's not bad, though. Also, I'm really curious about Amanda Grace's books. Good luck with everything!

ICONS! This book sounds amazing! I just hope it lives up to our expectations. I still haven't been able to make myself finish Beautiful Creatures. 🙁
