Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
*sigh* Autumn. Finally. My favorite season. The time of year where you can finally snuggle up under a blanket with a good book. I have a TBR a mile long (but who doesn’t, right?) so narrowing it down can be a bit trying at times. Plus, there’s a new bingo card coming out very soon and I will likely go mental trying to complete that but won’t know what to pick to read until that comes out! I also have a fun-filled October reading list planned but I’ll tell you guys about that later. So instead, I’m just going to spotlight all the upcoming Fall releases I’m most anticipating. Which is another list a mile long but I’ll narrow it down.
Revival: A Novel by Stephen King {Purchase}
I wasn’t a huge fan of Mr. Mercedes, another King released this year, but I’ve had my eye on Revival for a while. This one has a definite eerie sound to it.
J by Howard Jacobson {Purchase}
I came upon this one after seeing it announced as a Man Booker Prize Nominee. A literary dystopian with a love story. I’m not completely on board but I’m certainly intrigued.
UnDivided (Unwind Dystology #4) by Neal Shusterman {Purchase}
Admittedly, I have yet to read book 3. I thoroughly enjoyed 1 and 2 but figured on a binge read of 3 and 4 since the decision to split the last one into two installments. Can’t wait.
The Accidental Highwayman by Ben Tripp {Purchase}
Swashbuckling adventures, fairy princesses and fun illustrations? I only know Ben Tripp’s name from his zombie tales (which I still need to read) but love how this one sounds. Fans of The Princess Bride definitely makes this appealing.
The Blood of Olympus (The Heroes of Olympus #5) by Rick Riordan {Purchase}
The last one! Oh noooooo. Hopefully it’s one seriously epic finale because this has been an incredibly fun series.
Seventh Grave and No Body (Charley Davidson #7) by Darynda Jones {Purchase}
This is one of my all-time favorite series because I can always count on them to be a fun, entertaining (and occasionally steamy) read. This far into the series, shit is really getting serious and I anticipate much crazy going down. Fingers crossed.
Symbiont (Parasitology #2) by Mira Grant {Purchase}
Parasite wasn’t my favorite of Mira’s, however, it’s Mira so I’ll be reading it.
House of War and Witness by Mike Carey {Purchase}
The author is Mike Carey, also known as M.R. Carey (author of The Girl With All the Gifts), and this sounds like one amazing fantasy/historical fiction mix that I’m super eager for.
The Voices by F.R. Tallis {Purchase}
I’ve really been branching out this year into the horror genre and am determined to read more of the ‘classic’ horror novels but to also find new authors. This is one I’ve discovered and the summary alone is eerie enough so I’m hoping the story is even more so.
Mortal Heart (His Fair Assassin #3) by Robin LaFevers {Purchase}
Last but not least! Mortal Heart is quite possibly one of my most anticipated reads of the year. Grave Mercy was phenomenal and Dark Triumph was… a triumph? haha I’m hoping this one knocks it out of the park.
What are you looking forward to releasing this season?
I can’t wait for Symbiont. Parasite was my first book by her and I was impressed by the medical research she did.

The research was most impressive, albeit extremely unnerving. 🙂

I have Seventh Grave and Mortal Hearts on my list as well. Still haven’t read Parasite even though I have it on my Kindle!

Parasite was good! I had to read it because, Mira, but it wasn’t her best.

Great minds and all that, right? 🙂

Oh, SYMBIONT!!! Forgot about that one. I really liked Parasite (although I haven’t read the Newsflesh books, so I can’t compare). Nice list!

Ooh, The Accidental Highwayman sounds wonderful! And I love The Princess Bride (one of my fall picks is Cary Elwes’s upcoming memoir). I think I will have to try reading it. Thank you!

Oh I heard about that! It’s funny, I only watched The Princess Bride for the first time like last year. Better late than never I suppose. lol I would like to read the book as well one of these days.

I’m glad you got a chance to see it! I love it and oddly enough, actually think it’s better than the book (although the book is worth reading; it’s told in a different style than the movie).
