Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
So I fell flat this week and couldn’t come up with 10… I blame this on the fact that there are so few books that aren’t already part of a series these days. Serious though, what’s so wrong with a good solid standalone novel? Authors, fix this.

Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie
Agnes is one of my all-time favorite characters ever… extremely funny. Would love to have seen more stories about her crazy shenanigans.
School Spirits (School Spirits #1) by Rachel Hawkins
While this is a planned series, apparently the author announced that she got busy with other works in progress and won’t be getting back around to this series for a while. I would prefer sooner rather than later. 🙂

The Lover’s Dictionary by David Levithan
I don’t necessarily want a sequel but this was such an original way of writing a story. I’d love to see more in this style.
The Devil All the Time by Donald Ray Pollock
Another one that I don’t necessarily want a sequel but I would really love to have more books just. like. this.

The Last Bastion of the Living: A Futuristic Zombie Novel by Rhiannon Frater
While this was a solid stand-alone, the world building was phenomenal and I just didn’t want it to end.
Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
This is kind of cheating since I just found out that Palahniuk IS actually making a sequel to this which is definitely intriguing…
What books do you wish had sequels?
Leave me a link and I’ll be sure to stop by!
