This is my black sheep post.

I went into these series with the highest of hopes! Rave reviews, popular authors — for whatever reason I was looking forward to each and every one of these. Many of these are well loved by many but just didn’t do it for me and I liked these far less than I expected. It is what it is.

I hear you with the Poison Princess. I keep going with the series but I question my sanity because they make. me. angry. Why do I do this to myself.

I got Red Rising too in my list! To be honest I only read a few pages and I was not impressed so i decided to put it down. But I am planning on read it another time.
    My TTT.

I have many of these on my list and others I have completely avoided. I didn’t really love Red Rising, Poison Princess or Incarnate enough to continue either. Great post, Bonnie. Interesting that all of these are YA. I am struggling so much with YA these days that I am getting to the point where I don’t want to pick it up anymore.

THE MADMAN’S DAUGHTER WAS SO BAD. Why did I read the sequel?? You were much wiser than me.

Prudence and FINNIKIN (!!!) sadden me, but to each their own! (You should still read Jellicoe Road.) I also DNF’d Red Rising, but find myself willing to try again?

Was the sequel bad too? Lol

And I know… I think I’ll try Finnikin again one day. I did love Jellicoe Road… really all of Marchetta’s books but that one. Maybe it was my mood. I am definitely NOT giving Red Rising another chance though. hahahaha
