Top Ten of my Favorite Book Quotes

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

The number of my favorite quotes could never be condensed down to 10 and these may not be my top 10 favorite quotes of all time, but they’re some really good ones nonetheless. 🙂

“The past can teach us, nurture us, but it cannot sustain us. The essence of life is change, and we must move ever forward or the soul will wither and die.”
― Susanna Kearsley, Mariana

“This is why dreams can be such dangerous things: they smolder on like a fire does, and sometimes they consume us completely.”
― Arthur Golden, Memoirs of a Geisha

“You do not write your life with words, the monster said. You write it with actions. What you think is not important. It is only important what you do.”
― Patrick Ness, A Monster Calls

“One day you will kiss a man you can’t breathe without, and find that breath is of little consequence.”
― Karen Marie Moning, Bloodfever

“Dark chocolate, poured over velvet: that was how his voice tasted. I wanted him to follow me around and narrate the rest of my life.”
― R.J. Anderson, Ultraviolet

“Happiness is a gift and the trick is not to expect it, but to delight in it when it comes.”
― Charles Dickens, Nicholas Nickleby

“We never know what is going to happen, do we? Life is always throwing us this way and that. That’s where the adventure is. Not knowing where you’ll end up or how you’ll fare. It’s all a mystery, and when we say any different, we’re just lying to ourselves. Tell me, when have you felt most alive?”
― Eowyn Ivey, The Snow Child

“We live, we die. Somewhere along the way, if we’re lucky, we may find someone to help lighten the load.”
― Justin Cronin, The Passage

“How I’d love to get away from here and be someone else for a while in a place where no one knows or expects certain things from me.”
― Libba Bray, A Great and Terrible Beauty

“For where all love is, the speaking is unnecessary. It is all. It is undying. And it is enough.”
― Diana Gabaldon, Outlander

Some beautiful quotes Bonnie! I don't know how you narrowed it down. I love so many of the books on your list and a couple are on my wish list like Ultraviolet and Snow Child. Thanks for sharing.
