Hi everybody! Thanks for stopping by. Today’s post is ‘Waiting on Wednesday’ which is a weekly blog feature hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we’re super excited about.

TitleBlackberry Winter
Author: Sarah Jio
Expected Release Date: September 27th 2012

There actually isn’t a Goodreads summary on this yet so I went to take a look at the authors website and this is what she has to say about ‘Blackberry Winter’:

The story, which takes its title from a late-season, cold-weather phenomenon, continues Jio’s rich exploration of the ways personal connections can transcend the boundaries of time.
Seattle, 1932. Single mother Vera Ray kisses her three-year-old son, Daniel, goodnight and departs to work the night-shift at a local hotel. She emerges to discover that a May-Day snow has blanketed the city, and that her son has disappeared into the heart of the storm.
Seattle, 2010. Seattle Herald reporter Claire Hanson is assigned to cover the May 1 “blackberry winter” storm and its predecessor that occurred on the same date nearly eighty years earlier. Learning of the unsolved abduction, Claire vows to unearth the truth—only to discover that she and Vera are linked in unexpected ways.
Pre-order the book here!

This one sounds like a total heart-breaker… and I can’t wait. This will be Sarah Jio’s third book and I absolutely adored her first two (The Violets of March and The Bungalow). This one recently made an appearance on Netgalley and went from content with the day to so excited I wanted to squeal in 2.5 seconds… only to find out that they’re not offering it to us book bloggers at the moment. Hopefully this changes closer to release date because I can’t wait to dive into this one!

What are you Waiting on this Wednesday? Let me know! Feel free to leave your link in the comments section.

Oh, I’ve never even heard of this author–I love the title and premise, though! Look forward to your review, Miss Bonnie. 🙂
