Hi everybody! Thanks for stopping by. Today’s post is ‘Waiting on Wednesday’ which is a weekly blog feature hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we’re super excited about.
Tarnish (The Royal Circle #2)by Katherine LongshoreExpected publication: June 18th 2013 by Viking JuvenileAnne Boleyn is the odd girl out. Newly arrived to the court of King Henry VIII, everything about her seems wrong, from her clothes to her manners to her witty but sharp tongue. So when the dashing poet Thomas Wyatt offers to coach her on how to shine at court—and to convince the whole court they’re lovers—she accepts. Before long, Anne’s popularity has soared, and even the charismatic and irresistible king takes notice. More than popularity, Anne wants a voice—but she also wants love. What began as a game becomes high stakes as Anne finds herself forced to make an impossible choice between her heart’s desire and the chance to make history.
The Royal Circle series

Read my review of Gilt here.
I LOVED Gilt. Admittedly, I wasn’t expecting to love it quite as much as I did mainly because it’s a story/time period that’s been told time and time again. Gilt managed to be refreshingly written and told from the POV of another individual making it feel like a brand-new story. Very excited for the next installment.
Have you read Gilt? Is it still on your TBR? If you’ve read it, did you love it?
I haven't read the first book, so I"ll have to look at the synopsis for that one! Sounds pretty awesome though. 🙂

Gilt is still on the "need to read" list for me, but from what I've heard, I'm guessing I'm going to love it. I definitely need to read it before Tarnish comes out!

I haven't read Gilt yet – the whole series is new to me – I'll have to check it out because I do like historical fiction.

Great choice, I have Gilt on my 'read soon' pile but I can't wait to get my hands on Tarnish anyway!

Really? You loved it? It's ODD that I never even heard of it, not that I remember, anyway. I'm VERY curious and I'll be off to investigate on GoodReads. I've developed a taste for historicals lately. Or is it just that I'm tired of everything else. Huh.
I didn't get around to reading Gilt. They changed the covers and I like this new one better. I am always fascinated by The Tudors and I think this would be an interesting read!
First time I hear about this series. Both books sound very good and I love the covers!! Great pick (:

I don't mind historical novels, and there aren't many aimed at YA, so it looks interesting. New follower on Bloglovin.

I think it is.. it's the one they have posted on Amazon too. Does your ARC have the cover with the pretty girl? http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1351580282l/16101031… – I loved that one but I think they were trying to match up with the Gilt paperback for some strange reason.
This series sounds delightful and is new to me. Love the elegant look of the covers, too. Thanks for sharing and visiting my blog.

I still need to read Gilt. I love books about The Tudors and especially about Anne Boleyn, so I'm very excited 😀

Oh man, is that the final cover? It's different from the ARC so I'm a little flummoxed by this change. FLUMMOXED, I say. I wouldn't get "historical" from this at all, let alone "definite beheading," hee hee.

Wow, Gilt must have flown under my radar when it was released because I knew nothing about it before reading your mini review for it here. Sounds pretty good! I look forward to hearing how its sequel fares in reviews.

I'm really looking forward to reading this! I also was pleasantly surprised by Gilt. I was planning on giving it a few pages and just got sucked into the story. Great choice!
This series is not really my thing but I have heard great things about the series from friends of mine. I do hope you enjoy it, Bonnie!
