Set against a future of marauding space scavengers and deadly aliens who kill with sound, here is a frightening, fast-paced YA adventure from the author of the acclaimed horror novel, Shutter.
Tuck has been in stasis on the USS John Muir, a ship that houses Earth’s most valued artifacts—its natural resources. Parks and mountains are preserved in space.
Laura belongs to a shipraiding family, who are funded by a group used to getting what they want. And they want what’s on the Muir.
Tuck and Laura didn’t bargain on working together, or battling mutant aliens who use sound to kill. But their plan is the only hope for their crews, their families, and themselves.
In space, nobody can hear you scream . . . but on the John Muir, the screams are the last thing you'll hear.
I really enjoyed Alameda’s debut Shutter (the story was great, even if it didn’t scare me. I’m starting to realize that’s seemingly impossible.) and am all about deadly aliens that kill with sound. I also see that Alameda made another successful offering to the cover gods because dayum, that’s awesome.
What are you waiting on this Wednesday?
I’ve haven’t read Shutter yet, but this book sounds interesting! Great pick!

I just added this one to my wishlist yesterday. Maybe I saw it on your list of releases coming up in 2018. Either way, it’s already on it because it sounds like something I need to read and I love the cover – creepy!

I only recently decided to give it a whirl since I only vaguely remembered Shutter… but my horror TBR is dwindling. hahaha

I’m so flippin’ excited for this book. I feel like we’ve been waiting forever. I think it’s been pushed back a bunch of times, which makes me nervous. I remember doing a WOW post for this probably a year ago!

I am excited for this one too. I really loved her debut book a couple of years ago. I have been waiting a long time for this one.

Gah! This doesn’t come out until February. I’m going to have trouble letting go of all of the horror when October ends and Sci-Fi month begins in November. I thought you just handed me the perfect cheat. 🙂

hahaha! Sorry! Super far out but I wanted to do all horror WOW posts this month. I’m going to have a hard time stopping with horror too, as I always do, and I always say I just need to read more throughout the year but I rarely do.
